The Garbage is a rock alternative band from the United States. It was formed in 1994 and released five studio albums. The debut album of the Garbage is of the same name “
Garbage”. It was released in 1995.
I was
writing book report on history when the album was broadcasted on the radio. I liked only several tracks of it: the Queer, A Stroke of Luck, and Milk. Maybe, I did not like the album because I was not fond of its genre, alternative rock. I liked the
voice of the soloist, Shirley Manson the most. It is quite clear, strong, and unique. Nevertheless, the album became very successful: it was nominated by the
Grammy Awards for the Best Rock Song of the years. Moreover, it was certified gold in 1996.
The theme of the album is not homogeneous: different things were sung about in the Garbage. For example, as it is mentioned in lots of
research essay papers on the Garbage, the article about the sado-masochistic couple became the basis for the track Vow.
I do not know why the album sounded so polished: maybe, the producer of the Garbage wanted to make a perfect piece of music without any notch, or maybe, such techniques were used in 90s. Frankly speaking, when I was listening to the album had a feeling that the producer did all he could in order to make the Garbage one of the most successful project of the year.
